Fine Screening Technology for Premium Cultural Paper: Deinking and Process Control
Fine Screening Technology for Premium Cultural Paper Production

Premium cultural paper grades require exceptional cleanliness and optical properties. Fine screening and deinking systems remove ink particles, stickies, and other contaminants that compromise paper quality. Modern deinking lines achieve ISO brightness values above 90 percent while maintaining fiber yield above 85 percent. The combination of flotation deinking, fine screening, and dispersion produces stock suitable for high-grade writing and printing papers.
Flotation Deinking Cell Performance
Flotation deinking cells operate at 0.8 to 1.2 percent consistency with air injection rates of 25 to 40 percent by volume. Ink removal efficiency reaches 92 to 95 percent in properly optimized systems. Throughput ranges from 80 to 300 TPD depending on cell configuration. Power consumption is 35 to 45 kWh per ton, with chemical costs representing 6 to 9 USD per ton of recovered fiber.
Fine Slotted Screening for Maximum Cleanliness
Pressure screens with 0.10 to 0.15 mm fine slots remove residual ink specks and micro-stickies after deinking. Screen baskets with wedge-wire or laser-cut slot geometries achieve debris removal efficiency of 85 to 95 percent with fiber passage rates above 90 percent. Multi-stage screening with cascading reject treatment reduces total fiber loss to under 3 percent across the complete system.
Dispersion and Kneading Technology
Hot dispersion at 80 to 95 degrees Celsius and 25 to 35 percent consistency reduces visible ink particles to below 50 microns. Specific energy input is 45 to 65 kWh per ton. The kneading action also improves fiber bonding potential for enhanced sheet strength properties in the finished paper.
Maintenance Schedule for Deinking Equipment
Flotation cell air injectors require weekly inspection for blockage. Screen baskets need ultrasonic cleaning every 2,000 hours to maintain slot dimension accuracy. Dispersion discs and fillings should be inspected at 3,000-hour intervals. Chemical dosing pumps need calibration verification every 500 operating hours to maintain deinking chemistry efficiency.
